What is RSS ?
RSS, which stands for Really Simple Syndication, is a lightweight XML format designed to share text
and other Web content. It is used by computer programs to organize this content for easy reading, presenting it in
a way that makes it simple to see when there is new material available, or when material has been updated.
Many news and merchant sites, including ANA & Associates, make an RSS Feed available (you can tell these
sites because they typically carry an easily-identified orange symbol with the letters RSS). Readers then pick up this
feed with special (usually free) software called a Feed Reader or Aggregator, which checks
RSS-enabled websites for you and displays what it finds.
Depending on the source, RSS will deliver the entire text of the story to your newsreader, or just the first paragraph
or headline. Clicking on that headline will take you straight to the full story via your web browser.
How to use RSS Feed ?
The only thing you need to do, to start using RSS, is to obtain a Feed Reader.
Many readers are available, either as stand-alone programs, extensions to existing programs (such as a plug-in
for your web browser), or as web-based applications. Web-based readers don’t require you to download or install
any software. Instead, you simply log in from any computer with Web access and check your feeds.

Once you make a selection, follow the instructions to setup your reader. When you are finished, you can subscribe
to any of the RSS feeds. This usually involves copying the URL, or web address, of the feed.
Once you copy the URL, follow the instructions offered by your particular newsreader and paste the feed into the proper
location. And that’s it! Your subscription feed will automatically update every time that something new is posted.
